I want you to place the palms of your hands together and rub them back and forth as fast as you can. Are they getting hot yet? The warmth sensation in your palms is friction, which in turn generates heat. Now imagine your vehicle's engine......

Metal expands when heated, surface area and volume will increase with temperature. The scientific term for this is thermal expansion. Thermal expansion occurs because heat increases the vibrations of the atoms in the metal.

A lack of engine oil in the system, or even dirty oil will lead to extreme engine wear, and driving a car low on oil can lead to some pretty bad situations. When your vehicle's engine is low on oil, there will be no lubricate on your engine parts. This means that you will eventually have metal parts rubbing against metal parts, which in turn generates friction and produces heat.

Using high-quality engine oil and oil filters is critical to reducing engine wear. A high quality oil filter will trap particles before they can circulate through the engine and cause wear. Most engine wear occurs at cold-start and during the first few minutes of operation. Revving a cold engine will greatly accelerate this wear and tear.

Here, at Washington Brothers Automotive, your car matters. That is why we only use high-quality products. Our Synthetic Blends have some advantages over conventional motor oil. They're designed to be more effective at "resisting oil breakdown", which makes it last longer than conventional oil. Also, by withstanding higher temperatures than conventional oil, it helps keep your engine running and lasting longer.
