Why is tire safety important?

Updated: Dec 12, 2020

What are the benefits of having good tires? Every part of your vehicle serves a purpose, but one area that often gets neglected are your tires. Having proper tires for your car can improve your fuel economy, handling, and your OVERALL SAFETY! Check out tips below so that you can achieve extended tire life.

HOW TO: Make Your Tires Last Longer

1: Visually check your tires for irregularities

in treadwear as these could indicate problems with alignment or inflation.

2: Check your tire air pressure monthly, take the easiest step to extend tire life. Maintain the correct pressure.

3: Get your tires rotated every 6000 miles. In most cars, only one or two wheels "drive" the car.

4: Have your wheels balanced

5: Check your alignment each year

Driving with an underinflated or overloaded tire causes the tire to develop excessive heat. This causes the tire's sidewall to flex excessively, resulting in higher operating temperatures and possible internal structural damage. All this could cause tire failure, leading to vehicle damage and/or personal injury.
